Following on from the success of Sail4Cancer and Topperdome, Killyleagh Yacht Club is pleased to launch its new annual Charity Keelboat Weekend! Each year, we’ll be running this racing weekend to do our bit for local causes and this year we are delighted to announce that the event will be supporting Trauma & Orthopaedics Research Charity (TORC).
Trauma & Orthopaedics Research Charity (TORC) is a small but ambitious charity based in Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast. They work with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and research staff to continually improve the provision of holistic care for all those with musculoskeletal injury or disease in Northern Ireland.
Amanda Watson, Fundraising Office Manager at TORC explains a little more about the good work that the charity is undertaking:
“We assist in the educational needs of clinicians, trainees and patients, by facilitating staff training and dissemination of best practice / research ideas.”
“Our aim is to deliver leading edge and high-quality research which will contribute to best practice, improved outcomes and enhance the patient experience.”
Amanda continues, “we are very excited to be the chosen partner for Killyleagh Yacht Club’s Charity Keelboat weekend – every donation from the event will be greatly appreciated and will help to fund the improvement of musculoskeletal conditions across Northern Ireland.”
The Charity Keelboat Weekend will take place across Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June 2023 and is open to boats in IRC, Impala, NHC, NHC Restricted Sail and Squib classes.
Entry is FREE but any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Onshore activities include a FREE bbq and music on Saturday with prizegiving on both days and a raffle with some great wins up for grabs!.
