The Squib Irish National Championship is back in Killyleagh for 2026! We’re delighted to be hosting this event again, which takes place across the weekend of Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August.
ENTRY
This event is open to all boats of the National Squib Class. ENTRY EXTENDED. The closing date for entries is now 1800hrs on Sunday 9th August 2026.
FOOD
FRIDAY 14th AUGUST
There will be a food van at the club on Friday and the bar will be open. No booking is required.
SATURDAY 15th AUGUST
Breakfast will be provided for both helm and crew and is included in the entry fee.
There will be a championship buffet dinner in the clubhouse on Saturday evening. Booking is required. Tickets are £30pp and can be purchased at time of entry.
*Dinner tickets are limited to 2 per boat but additional tickets may be available closer to the event.
SUNDAY 16th AUGUST
Breakfast will be provided for both helm and crew and is included in the entry fee.
ENTERTAINMENT
There will be live music after racing on Saturday afternoon, and on Saturday evening after the dinner.

ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at KYC, please follow the instructions of our beach team to ensure that boats are unloaded, rigged, launched and trailers taken away as quickly as possible.
LAUNCHING & HAUL OUT
The KYC slipway is available for launching and recovery using a hoist and launching trollies. The slipway is exposed and tidal. Subject to weather conditions, boats may launch on Thursday 13th August 2026 between 1130hrs and 1730hrs, and on Friday 14th August 2026 between 1100hrs and 1500hrs. We would request that local boats from Killyleagh Yacht Club and RNIYC endeavour to launch on Thursday 13th to allow for travelling boats to launch on Friday 14th.
Subject to weather conditions, hauling out will take place ASAP after the last race on Sunday 16th August 2026. The OA will endeavour to haul out the furthest travelling boats first.
