Sailing with a Purpose: Killyleagh Yacht Club’s Charity Work
At Killyleagh Yacht Club, sailing isn’t just about competition, it’s about community, connection, and giving back.
In 2025, our annual Charity Keelboat Weekend brought together sailors and supporters for two fantastic days of racing, raising over £4,000 for Marie Curie Northern Ireland. The weekend featured great sailing, a free BBQ, live music, and a raffle supported by generous local sponsors.
We were also proud to support Portaferry RNLI in 2024, donating £3,700 to help fund their lifesaving work at sea.
We’re delighted to have previously raised funds for the Trauma & Orthopaedics Research Charity (TORC), helping to support vital medical research and patient care.
These events are only possible thanks to the dedication of our members, volunteers, and the many businesses and individuals who continue to support us.
At Killyleagh Yacht Club, we’re proud to combine a love of sailing with a strong commitment to charity—and we look forward to continuing this important work in the years ahead.
